It all begins on the lunge line. Anyone wishing to learn to ride usually starts at a riding school. During the initial lessons, the instructor guides the horse on a long line (the lunge), allowing the beginner to focus entirely on their seat, balance, and getting a feel for the horse's movement.

Whether driving a single elegant pony or a team of four heavy draft horses, handling a carriage requires intense concentration, precise rein control, and excellent voice commands. Possibilities range from leisurely Sunday carriage outings to high-speed obstacle driving competitions.

The Right Riding Gear: Safety and Comfort for Both Parties

To practice the sport safely and in a horse-friendly manner, the right equipment—or "tack"—is essential. A clear distinction is made between equipment for the rider and equipment for the horse.

One key principle stands out: ill-fitting equipment can cause chronic pain and behavioral problems in horses. Regular checks by experts are mandatory.

Riding Equipment

Our riding equipment section - covering all the necessary gear - is divided into two categories: "Equipment for Horses" and "Equipment for Riders." To make this distinction, we applied the following criterion: items that riders wear or hold are classified as rider equipment, whereas items such as bridles or saddles are assigned to the horses.

Equipment for Riders

When it comes to riding gear, safety is the primary consideration. Even though the idea of ​​hopping into the saddle and galloping along the beach with the wind in your hair sounds tempting, a riding helmet is indispensable. And even truly skilled riders have experienced incidents—even with the most reliable horses—that teach exactly this lesson.

Horse equipment

When looking at horse equipment, there are various options—ranging from the truly essential to the merely "nice-to-have"—but the fit is crucial for all of them. The primary criterion is always: Does this fit my horse? And by that, we mean not the color, but the size and shape of the equipment.

In short, regarding the world of horse riding: The equestrian world is diverse and inclusive. Whether you are a competitive rider chasing ribbons, unwinding on a long-distance trail ride during your vacation, or holding the reins of a carriage, the focus is always on the fascinating partnership with one of the most loyal animals in human history.
